Henry Darrow
Henry Darrow was collecting film credits and acting experience in 12 feature films and 75 television series before he was chosen for what is probably his best-known role: Manolito Montoya on the TV series, The High Chaparral. Throughout his career, Henry has appeared in some five hundred episodes of soap operas, mini-series, sit-coms, and dramas, along with numerous stage plays. He won a Bambi Award -- the German version of an Emmy -- for The High Chaparral. His TV appearances include featured roles on the TV series The New Adventures of Zorro, Zorro and Son, Harry-O, The Invisible Man, The New Dick Van Dyke Show, General Hospital, One Life to Live, and Santa Barbara, for which he won a Daytime Emmy Award. On TV, Henry is equally at home in the old west (Bonanza, Gunsmoke, Daniel Boone, The Wild Wild West) in outer space (Star Trek TNG and Star Trek Voyager, Babylon 5, or fighting (and sometimes committing) crimes (Diagnosis Murder, Knight Rider, Hart to Hart, Wonder Woman). His movies include Runaway Jury, Maverick, The Hitcher, Losin' It and many more. Henry was a member of the Board of Directors of the Screen Actors Guild and a member of "SAG's" Ethnic Minorities Committee. He was also a founder of "Nosotros", an organization helping Latino actors to land non-stereotyped parts. Henry has served on the Advisory Committee of Bilingual Children's Television. Henry received the first Ricardo Montalban/Nosotros Award for his contributions in improving the image of the Latino.
